n Janne Nilsson

This is still one of my own personal favourites. The figure is from Fort Royal Review in 120mm scale. The kit went together pretty well although a lot of putty was required. Most of the equipment was replaced with equivalent from Verlinden. The face was painted in artist oils and the rest in Humbrol enamels. I used the book SS-Uniforms in Color as a reference for the uniform.

The base was made of Celluclay, dried roots, charcoal for the rocks The spruce was made by gluing branch by branch of Aspargus Plymosa fern on sticks. The American helmet and water bottle is from another set from Verlinden. Snow was simulated by using corn starch. Note also the scrunched pack of ciggaretts. The scene reminds me of the many photographs from the winter offensive in Ardennes in December 1994.
