December was a rather busy month, which unfortunately resulted in Scale News updates slowing down to nil. Everything wasn't standing still though: I have been working on the update of the forum software to combat the malicious spam bots which have repeatedly affected our discussion forums. Although still limited in their impact, the threat had to be taken seriously and I hope that we will be able to eliminate it in the new year. And I'm glad to say that due to the excellent work of our moderators, forum activity in the recent weeks has been as good as ever. In the Works forum in particular is going stronger all the time, with many wonderful modelling projects on display every week.

For these reasons, the december Magazine will be posted online after Christmas.

Today it is time to prepare to celebrate the holidays with my family. I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to all of you model enthusiasts who use and enjoy this site. My special thanks go to the many wonderful people who continued to support this site with their writing and photos. I hope that we will all meet together in the New Year.

Have the merriest of holidays!

The big Christmas Tree at the Old Town in Stockholm. It is said to be the biggest in the world - Norwegian Spruce, from Uppland, 38 meters high with 5000 lights. The tree is so big that it usually arrives on a huge truck in the middle of the night when there's less traffic. [Photo: Steffe, via Flickr]
