The next new-tool 1/35 armour kit from Tamiya will be Soviet Havy Tank JS-2. The new kit will be revealed at the forthcoming 2007 All Japan Plamodel Radicon Show on October 11-14. The JS-2 kit will represent a 1944 ChKZ-production version and will feature a choice of vinyl belt-type or individual link tracks. Tamiya will also include photoetched engine grille in the box.

At the same show we can expect to see a new aircraft from Tamiya, the 1/48 Fieseler Fi 156C Storch and a very welcome new kit of a subject long neglected in this scale. This kit will come with parts to replicate various versions of the Fi 156C, including 3 different types of canopies, fuel tank and skis. Interestingly, clear canopy sides will be molded together with the fuselage halves to simplify construction and add strength to the wing mounting.

Getting the necessary structural strength in a plastic model of the Storch can be tricky, and Tamiya solves it by including the wing spar and the landing gear struts from metal. Photo-etched parts will include cockpit panels, cockpit frame and front seat. Also, 1 pilot and 1 commander figure will be thrown into the package.

Both kits are scheduled for release before Christmas. No photos of the kit packaging or contents have been published yet.
